Anxiety and depression are part of the human experience—but often misunderstood, especially among older adults. These emotional states may be dismissed as “just part of aging” or mistaken for everyday stress. In this candid and compassionate conversation, gerontologist Sally Duplantier and clinical psychologist Dr. Mark Moore will explore how to recognize the difference between life’s natural ups and downs and more persistent emotional distress that may benefit from support or treatment.
Together, they’ll shine a light on the quiet struggles many people carry, while also honoring the reality that not every feeling needs to be “fixed.” Dr. Moore will offer guidance on how to support loved ones with anxiety or depression—emphasizing presence, listening, and understanding over judgment or solutions.
Whether you’re navigating these emotions yourself or caring for someone who is, this conversation offers a safe space to reduce stigma, deepen empathy, and promote emotional well-being at every age.
