Aging in Place with Purpose: Rethinking Community and Connection in Later Life

FREE & RECORDED. Times shown are Pacific Time.

As we age, where we live matters—but so does how we stay connected. The Village Movement is a grassroots approach that helps older adults build networks of support, friendship, and practical assistance while remaining active in their own homes and communities.

The Village Movement is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Join a panel of Village leaders to learn how this innovative model works and why it has expanded to more than 300 communities across the country, serving over 50,000 members. Whether you're aging in place, living in a senior community, or helping a loved one plan for the future, you'll leave with new ideas about creating connection, purpose, and support in later life and discover a community-driven model for aging well.

Our panel brings together three experienced leaders from the Village Movement who have dedicated their time and talents to helping older adults remain connected, engaged, and independent as they age. Joining us are Chuck Sieloff, a longtime member of the leadership team at Avenidas Village; Erika Thomas, Director of Avenidas Village and a leader in community-based aging services; and Sue Eldredge, Executive Director of Villages of San Mateo County. Together, they will share insights from their work building vibrant communities that support older adults in aging with purpose, connection, and confidence.
